A Festive Sweet with a Fresh Twist

Chocolate Mint Bark is the perfect homemade holiday treat, combining rich chocolate with the bright, cooling flavor of fresh peppermint. It’s a simple yet elegant dessert that makes an excellent gift or addition to your holiday table.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa, chopped)

  • 8 oz white chocolate (chopped)

  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract

  • Fresh peppermint leaves (finely chopped, for garnish)

  • Crushed candy canes (optional, for decoration)


Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Melt the Dark Chocolate: Using a double boiler or microwave, melt the dark chocolate until smooth. Spread it evenly on the parchment paper and allow it to set slightly.

  3. Melt the White Chocolate: Repeat the process with the white chocolate, stirring in the peppermint extract. Pour it over the dark chocolate layer and spread gently.

  4. Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle the chopped fresh peppermint and optional crushed candy canes over the top. Refrigerate until fully hardened (about 1 hour).

  5. Break and Serve: Once set, break the bark into pieces and enjoy!

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.

  • Dry your peppermint leaves thoroughly before chopping to avoid introducing moisture.

  • Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
