A Festive Sweet with a Fresh Twist
Chocolate Mint Bark is the perfect homemade holiday treat, combining rich chocolate with the bright, cooling flavor of fresh peppermint. It’s a simple yet elegant dessert that makes an excellent gift or addition to your holiday table.
Ingredients
8 oz dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa, chopped)
8 oz white chocolate (chopped)
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
Fresh peppermint leaves (finely chopped, for garnish)
Crushed candy canes (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
Prepare Your Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the Dark Chocolate: Using a double boiler or microwave, melt the dark chocolate until smooth. Spread it evenly on the parchment paper and allow it to set slightly.
Melt the White Chocolate: Repeat the process with the white chocolate, stirring in the peppermint extract. Pour it over the dark chocolate layer and spread gently.
Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle the chopped fresh peppermint and optional crushed candy canes over the top. Refrigerate until fully hardened (about 1 hour).
Break and Serve: Once set, break the bark into pieces and enjoy!
Tips for Success
Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
Dry your peppermint leaves thoroughly before chopping to avoid introducing moisture.
Store the bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
